Eligible URS employees enjoy benefit plans that provide choice and flexibility. Recognizing that individual and family needs can vary greatly, our plans and programs are built to accommodate our diverse employee population.

From your first day on the job, we offer a comprehensive benefits package. In addition to a number of optional programs, our people are immediately eligible to enroll in one of several health care plans and benefit from tax-advantaged flexible spending accounts. Participants who enroll in the URS 401(k) Plan are fully vested and may be eligible for employer contributions. Our employees are also eligible to enroll in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan during semi-annual enrollment periods.

Health Plans

  • Our medical plans are designed to protect you from financial difficulties should an illness or injury occur. One or more healthcare plans are available based on your division and location. Preventative care is a key component of our plans, and to encourage wellness we provide discounted fitness center membership, where available. Our employees have access to all or some of the following healthcare plans and features:

    • Consumer Directed Healthcare Plan (CDHP)

Dental Plans

  • Our dental plans are designed to help you and your family maintain good dental health. All of our plans promote preventative care, and when treatment is needed, they cover a broad range of services.

Tools for Saving

  • Employees are eligible to enroll on their first day of employment in our Company-sponsored 401(k) Plan, and may contribute 1% to 75% of their gross pay through payroll deductions up to allowable IRS limits. In many cases, URS matches a portion of the pre-tax contribution or may make an automatic contribution (amount varies by location) to an employee’s account. Vesting occurs immediately for all matches and company contributions.
  • Our Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) allows eligible employees to buy URS stock at a 5% discount. There is an opportunity to enroll in the ESPP during the semi-annual enrollment periods.

Protect Your Future

  • URS’ basic, term life and accident insurance help protect against financial hardship in the event of serious injury or death. Our short and long-term disability coverage can help maintain a stable income if you become disabled through injury or illness.
  • Long-term care insurance is offered as an optional benefit to provide financial protection from the high cost derived from extended care services, if a disabling injury or illness leaves you or a covered family member in need of long-term care.

Employee Assistance Program
Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available via a 24-hour hotline. The EAP provides no-cost, confidential assistance for a variety of personal or professional issues, including stress, financial challenges, work-related issues, or marital and family problems.

Flexible Spending Accounts

  • Our Health Care Flexible Spending Account allows you to set aside up to $5,000 before taxes to cover unreimbursed health care costs.
  • And if you’re caring for your children or aging tax dependent parent(s), the Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account lets you set aside up to $5,000 before taxes to defray covered dependent-care costs.

  • URS’ tuition-reimbursement plan enables employees to take classes or work toward a degree.
  • In addition to on-the-job training, online training and Web workshops are available to all of our people, including college courses that are available through our Intranet.

Additional Benefit Programs

  • A Transportation Reimbursement Incentive Program (TRIP), available at some locations, allows you to pay for eligible transportation and parking charges on a pre-tax basis.
