URS Names Joseph Hegna a VP and Manager for Alaska Operations

ANCHORAGE, AK —  December 11, 2008 —  URS Corporation has named Joseph Hegna a vice president and manager of its Alaska operations.

In his new position, Mr. Hegna will be the senior executive with overall responsibility for the company‘s operations in Alaska, including strategy development, business development, budgeting, profit and loss, quality, safety, client service and employee relations. URS has had a presence in Alaska for more than 50 years and currently has eight offices throughout the state, which provide consulting, environmental, engineering and construction services to both the public and private sectors.

Mr. Hegna has more than 34 years of experience leading large corporations in strategic planning, operations, engineering, project management, business development, and consulting. He has worked extensively with the Alaska oil and gas industry having managed a number of operations at Prudhoe Bay for a major oil and gas company and later serving as its Director of Regulatory Affairs. He also served as a Manager with the Strategic Reconfiguration Program for the Alyeska Pipeline, where he was responsible for leading critical reconfiguration activities, including regulatory relationships, permitting, safety, environmental protection, and quality. Most recently he was the Oil & Gas Sector Leader for a global consulting, engineering, and construction company.

Mr. Hegna is a registered professional engineer and holds a BS in engineering from the Kettering Institute and an MBA from Syracuse University. He serves on the Board of Directors for Alaska Chamber of Commerce and is the President-elect for the Alaska Support Industry Alliance.
