“For the past 53 years, the URS team has worked hand-in-hand with BP-Husky personnel to ensure the site is safe, efficient and involved in giving back to the surrounding communities where our employees live and work,” said Mark Costello, General Manager of URS’ Industrial/Process Business Group. “This award confirms that we’re continuing to perform to the client’s standards and adding value to their investments at the refinery.”
The URS safety record at this site is continuously recognized for its outstanding performance, which currently stands at more than 20 years and approximately 10 million work hours without a lost-time injury.
“Like anything, safety starts at the top,” said Chuck Stroh, Director of Operations and Maintenance for URS. “Our management is committed to sending everyone home safe at the end of each day. Leading indicators, such as requiring everyone from executive management down to the supervisory level obtain their Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification from the Council on Certification of Health, Environmental and Safety Technologists (CCHEST), cascades from the top executives to every craftsperson on our sites."
Additional reasons for the award include proven performance and high productivity on routine maintenance and turnaround activities, depth and flexibility to meet variable site needs, and URS’ commitment to BP-Husky and the surrounding communities.
