As part of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) team, URS provides technical support for two Concept of Operations development projects for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Domestic Nuclear Detection Office. For the West Coast Maritime Project – San Diego, URS provides expertise to develop and execute Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) compliant exercises. These exercises are essential to evaluate the developing Concept of Operations and Standard Operating Procedures to minimize the movement of illicit radiological and nuclear materials into U.S. waterways.
Working on a local level, URS assists LLNL in facilitating a series of workshops for state and urban areas stakeholders, to develop concept of operations to detect and interdict illicit radiological and nuclear materials.
