URS supported the development and integration of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Central Field Command and U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) J6 into one consolidated Theater Network Operations Center (TNC) to monitor and manage the USCENTCOM Theater Information Grid (TIG). We provided 100% of this support, managing the operations and defense of end-to-end video, voice and data network services in support of USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR) military operations, including 175 Tier I routers, 127,000 IP devices, VoIP and Secure Voice Over IP (VoSIP), cross-domain security and messaging.
URS secured the USCENTCOM network integrity and safety by providing Computer Network Defense (CND) information assurance (IA), policy development/management, incident management, compliance management, vulnerability management, forensics management, disaster recovery and continuity of operations (COOP) services. Our support extended to all USCENTCOM net-centric operations, enabling network command, control and defense for the USCENTCOM TIG, including unclassified and classified environments in both domestic and international locations.
URS implemented an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) based Incident and Problem Management Process, reducing the isolation and repair time by 50% on more than 10,000 circuits supporting military operations in the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR), including Iraq and Afghanistan.
We conducted trend analysis for on-going performance improvement; improved USCENTCOM performance and flexibility through the use of existing resources and proven process driven methodologies to exceed USCENTCOM Mean Time to Repair or Recovery (MTTR) and Network Availability goals and objectives. We also performed trending for network incidents and degradation events, supporting our rapid security countermeasure development, CND, situational awareness, real-time incident response and network forensic capabilities support to the USCENTCOM Theater NetOps Center (TNC) and reporting agencies and commands.
