URS assisted Entergy with interconnecting power from various independent power producer (IPP) projects into Entergy’s grid. The work included the preparation of interconnect and system impact studies in accordance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requirements. URS also assisted Entergy by providing project management and scheduling services, performing facilities studies and providing detailed design services associated with the IPP projects. The projects are located throughout Entergy’s electrical system covering Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
A URS team of engineers, designers and drafters performs these services as an extension of Entergy’s own design engineering group. URS provides the civil and electrical engineering detailed design services to handle the modifications required throughout several substations and multiple transmission lines for any one IPP project.
