  • Management & Operations

URS is part of a team that manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in northern New Mexico. Our primary role in the $14-billion contract is to safely manage the lab’s nuclear and other technically complex operations to support the advancement of science and the safety and security of the country. URS is working under a seven-year contract with an option for extensions up to 13 years.

LANL is a premier national security research institution, delivering scientific and engineering solutions for the nation's most crucial and complex problems. In addition to supporting its core national security mission, the laboratory is working to advance bioscience, chemistry, computer science, earth and environmental sciences, materials science and physics disciplines. URS’ primary role at the laboratory is to safely manage its nuclear and other technically complex operations in support of the advancement of science and the safety and security of the United States.
