URS provided engineering, procurement, and construction for the San Roque Dam. The $1.1 billion project is one Asia’s tallest earth- and rock-fill dams. Located in a remote mountainous region, the 345-megawatt dam rises 200 meters and contains 41.5 million cubic meters of earth fill.
Work sprawled over 4.5 square kilometers, and included the construction of all infrastructure facilities necessary to support the project. At peak construction the labor force reached
4,115 personnel, utilizing a fleet of heavy construction equipment valued over $100 million.
