URS has completed safety and risk management studies and training for over 350,000 U.S. Postal Service (USPS) employees. In addition, URS assisted the USPS in its efforts to respond to anthrax attacks by establishing a Unified Incident Command Center and collecting samples to test for anthrax at over 220 USPS facilities. URS also provided field sampling teams to assist in the determination of the presence of anthrax in 98 facilities.
URS is currently working with the USPS to develop and implement an all-hazards nationwide Integrated Emergency Management Program to guide USPS decisions on future steps in the development of the Postal Emergency Management System.
