The Air Force Parts Repair and Ordering System is an essential asset to the U.S. Air Force. It supports 83 U.S. allies and their need for standard and non-standard spare parts. Many weapons systems supported via Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs require spare parts that are either rare or no longer manufactured. The PROS program was developed to provide reliable procurement, maintenance, repair and familiarization training, which are essential to ensuring that United States allies remain self-sufficient when it comes to their defense. The technical support required for some older weapons systems, which are often 20-40 years old, requires resourcefulness, ingenuity and dedication. PROS has become an increasingly successful program. Canceled orders due to an inability to fulfill them has dropped from 60% to less than 7%.
