URS is providing project management services as an extension-of-staff to Catholic Healthcare West for improvements to the Marian Medical Center. The project is part of the SB1953 seismic upgrade and involves construction of a new central plant and construction of a 178-bed replacement tower. Additional elements include x-ray facilities in the new tower, relocation of the PBX, installation of telephony/data equipment to support the new tower and installation of a temporary chiller and pump sets to keep the operating rooms functional during construction
URS is preparing the project management plan, coordinating and conducting project meetings, coordinating owner consultants, coordinating with the design consultant and general contractor with planning staff and facility moving activities, and layout and procurement of medical equipment. URS is responsible for the project budget and schedule control, regulatory review (OSHPD), constructability and value engineering, peer reviews, project phasing, quality control, monthly reporting, incorporation of sustainable deign practices, staff training, bid and award services, contract administration, change order management, progress payment review, submittal processing, closeout and commissioning.
