URS provided civil, mechanical and electrical engineering services for a multistory residential and retail development in the English south coast town of Southampton.
Wilson Bowden Developments, who specializes in town centre regeneration, industrial and office developments throughout the United Kingdom, commissioned URS to provide a wide range of engineering expertise for a new development in the marina area of Southampton.
This £50m development comprises eight high-rise residential blocks offering exceptional views from a prime location. The development contains 520 apartments and restaurant units with associated car parking for 474 cars.
As the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) consultant, URS assisted the design team with the integration and coordination of services throughout the development. We ensured that site infrastructure requirements and spatial planning were addressed in a timely manner to assist the architect during design development.
Professional services provided as part of this project include the preparation of performance specification and Employers Requirements documentation, illustrative design drawings, review and validation of contractor design submissions and the inspection of the M&E installation.
