Working for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), URS is helping Azerbaijan develop a comprehensive capability to detect and interdict Weapons of Mass Destruction—including raw materials, technology and components—across its maritime border and adjacent waters of the Caspian Sea.
The main focus is advancing the Azerbaijan Coast Guard, including sustainable upgrades of ships and personnel, land-based infrastructure, and communications capabilities. A long-range radar installation, including land-based sensors and cameras, was built for surveillance and monitoring of all maritime shipping activity. This project has created the foundation essential to support future upgrades to land border security on the Caspian Sea.
